Subaru EPS Power Steering Emulator

 

 

The AGT Engineering Subaru EPS Rack emulator allows the use of the Subaru Electric Power Steering  (EPS) rack in certain conversions, in a stand alone environment, or to get rid of the wheel speed dependant assist level in race/drift car applications.  

 

The main signals the emulator emulates is Engine Speed (RPM), and Vehicle Speed.

 

There are five different module versions.

 

  • Version1: Variable assist via an external speed pulse input (either trasnmission speed sensor or via compatible ABS pulsed output) - This is for stand alone type road applications or in a different chassis
  • Version2:  Manual adjustable assist via the on-board potentiometer knob. For stand alone or Race/Drift car applications where the amount of assist to be fixed, regardless of vehicle speed, with a set and forget type of installation.
  • Version3:  Manual adjustable assit via remote control (dimmer control knob which can be installed next to the existing dimmer on the Gen4/5 Liberty/Legacy or Gen3/4 Impreza/WRX/Forester. This is suited to Race/Drift car applications and allows the driver easy adjustment on the level of power assist by a variable knob that installs next to the dash dimmer (illumination) dial. The new dial clips into the dash next to the illumination dial and looks like a standard factory dial for that OEM look.
  • Version4:  Manual adjustable assit via remote potentiometer and control knob. This is suited to Race/Drift car applications and allows the driver easy adjustment on the level of power assist by a variable knob mounted on the dash or within reach. Suitable for non where the OEM control style of version3 is not compatible with the dash of the vehicle, or there is no spare slot.
  • Version5:  Automoatic adjustable via Canbus. This can be used in a previous generation chassis that had a different Canbus, so the emulator will translate the Canbus from the previous generation (Gen4 Liberty/Legacy or Gen3 Impreza/WRX/Forester). Please provide details on your vehicle so we can program the unit to suit.

 

The emulators can be supplied with an Emulator to EPS harness and in most cases just need the ignition and ground wires connected by the installer to function. These harness also include the Torque Sensor interconnector (please select 5pin or 6pin type). If you already have the plugs and harness with the EPS, then you do not need to order the harness, and can wire in the emulator by joining to your existing harness.

We can also supply a power connector harness if you are missing this from your EPS Controller. This comes with a 0.5m Ground wire, and a 1.5m Power cable (to be connected to a 80Amp fused supply)

 

Each version can also be optioned with a clip on OLED screen for diasgnostics and monitoring, however not all EPS controllers are compatible with the diagnostic protocol used for the OLED screen (see manual or contact for details)
