Holden (GM) ASTRA Power Steering Emulator
The AGT Engineering “Canbus Emulator Miro-Astra Steering Emulator” allows the use of the later 08/09+ (ZF Brand) Astra Electric-Hydraulic power steering pumps in a stand alone environment or integrated to a different engine system. These later (08/09+) pumps utilised Canbus and do not function without the right signals over Canbus.
The main signals the emulator emulates is Engine Speed (RPM), and Vehicle Speed. These values can either be constant (pure stand alone), derived from inputs wired to the steering emulator (Tacho RPM input), or obtained via Canbus from a supported engine ECU.
Current supported ECUs include the following:
Ford Falcon (Barra/V8) BA-FGX
Ford Mustang S550 (Coyote)
GM Gen4/5 (LS3 L77 L98 LT1 etc)
If you have a different ECU that utilises Canbus, let us know and we can looked at adding support for it.
There are a few varients available.
BASIC - simple install, 4wire, Power (2) + Canbus (2),
TACHO input - 5wire (5th wire is a ground triggered tacho pulse * signal only, not direct wired to coils)
TWIN SPEED input - 5wire (5th wire is a ground triggered full speed switch, when not triggered, the set speed is adjusted by the on-board potentiometer).
CANBUS input - 4wire (When wired to supported Canbus ECU, the Speed and RPM is obtained via Canbus)
